James Wade is a composer of Australian and New Zealand ancestry based in Melbourne, Australia. His output includes orchestral, chamber, electro-acoustic and vocal music. His music has been performed by ensembles in Australia and internationally including the Melbourne, Tasmanian and Vancouver Symphony Orchestras and the Sydney Symphony Fellows.

A new composition for cello duo will be premiered in October 2010 by cellists Alister Barker and Chien–Hsiu Ong.

Work continues on a song cycle to be premiered in mid 2011 by Canadian soprano Chloé Angela Hurst.

New recordings, including the August 2009 performance of crux for orchestra, by the Sydney Conservatorium Orchestra, are now availablehere.
