Introduction

James Wade is a composer of Australian and New Zealand ancestry. His output includes orchestral, chamber, electro-acoustic and vocal music.

His music has been performed by a variety of ensembles in Australia and internationally including the Australian String Quartet, the Halcyon ensemble, the Melbourne, Tasmanian and Vancouver Symphony Orchestras and the Sydney Symphony Fellows.

The premiere of The Cosmic Dance for winds, brass and percussion, at 7.30pm on Saturday 6 April 2013 at the Melbourne Recital Centre, Elizabeth Murdoch Hall by the University of Melbourne Orchestra conducted by Benjamin Northey.

The Melbourne premiere of Fragments of Truth for soprano, tenor and piano by Nicole Car and Jonathan Abernethy at the Riverside Mezzanine, Hamer Hall, Melbourne at 12.30pm on Friday 30 November 2012.
